It's mostly a matter of designing the right touchscreen skin or selecting the proper speakers and projector.
In the case of this job in Delray Beach, Fla., Media Design Associates (MDA) had to incorporate the client's love of playing the drums. It's not easy when you are dealing with a relatively small 14 x 16-foot room.
"The owner loves to play the drums, so we wanted a dedicated theater room where he could actually drum along to music videos or movies," says Michael Wohl, president of MDA.
"He also produces Broadway shows, so he wanted an area to watch the classic movies he loves so much."
Besides the small space, the unused room had several other challenges, including keeping the space cool, a short installation time frame, finding space for the equipment rack and a window located in an awkward spot.
