The design of this dramatic home theater is a winner of Electronic House’s 2010 Home of the Year Awards in the “Home Theaters $25,000-$50,000″ category. The design features a lot of curtains that flow freely on every wall and even on the ceiling. Thanks to deep red color these curtains are in contrast with light woodwork that highly presented in the room. The curtains also very nicely balance reflective woodwork to smooth out the sound. All of the gear resides in a well-ventilated equipment closet just outside of the theater in order to save the clean look of the interior. Opera House
Yes, it's a real home theater that was custom built underground (basement). It comes complete with concession stand, marquee, and box office. Equipment includes three DVD players, a JVC QX-1 projector, and 25hz woofer drivers in Dunlavy SC-IVs. This may be an oldie but it's definitely worth taking another look at.

Unfortunately, they don't show any photos of the living room setup, and we are pretty sure just turning around a bunch of theater seats isn't going to cut it when trying to create an inviting space. The room itself looks pretty sterile, which is great when your attention is focused on a screen, but not so much when you're using it for other purposes.

Universal Remote For Your Home Theater
The whole point I am trying to make here is, why have 6 remotes when 1 can do it all. These remote controls are programmed by trained programmers, the regular Joe Shmoe is capable of programming if he/she understands the logic behind it. The capabilities a universal remote has is countless, we can control audio/video products, lighting, and drapes. If the item you want to control has IR (infrared) control then it can be controlled by this remote. Also these remotes can be turned into RF mode (radio frequency) meaning you could be in another room and control your system or lights.
The remotes range from $300 and up depending on what you'd like, the programming ranges from $200 and up. Like I said earlier, its not a cheap solution but it is worth it. This remote control can also be a one touch controller, you can hit the cable button and your TV will turn on, the cable box will turn on, the receiver will turn on and your ready to go. Where as before you'd have to grab the TV remote, then the cable remote and then the AV receiver remote. Sounds like a pain to me. Its a simple solution for your home theater, where there is no confusion.
Home Theater In A Box
A lot of companies have what we call HTIB's, Sony, Panasonic and the most common Bose. These are great products if you want sound, cd/dvd and radio in one. One thing we must remember with HTIB's is the actual speakers, which are not the most aesthetic pieces out there.
These HTIB's do hit price points, other than Bose which is price protected so don't look for any discount. If your looking for a real cheap surround sound system HTIB's are great. But one recommendation that I have is look into getting a separate receiver, which has more options than a Home Theater in a Box. For the speakers look into in wall or in ceiling speakers, something to produce great sound that won't take the eye away from the TV like a cube speaker would.
DVD players are extremely cheap and now Blueray is the way of the A/V future. For a little more money I think its worth getting everything separate, rather than in a bundle like the HTIB. Now lets not take this as if I am putting HTIB's down, I'm not. Actually HTIB's are great for apartment and condo situations where there is no attic access, and your not in any position to cut holes in the ceiling or walls for speakers. A Home Theater in a Box will produce a decent sound and are extremely easy to install. Before purchasing your surround sound for your home, look at what you want aesthetically and what you can afford financially.
High Definition Home Theater
Well most of the time these televisions don't have the FULL HD capabilities such as 1080P or a HDMI port on the back. These are two very important features. 1080P is what true high definition pictures are televised through. A HDMI port is an input for an HDMI cable that passes both audio and video signals. Also the HDMI cable passes 1080P as well as a digital signal for surround sound. So take a step back and think about your next purchase. Don't be afraid to do some research about the High Definition (HD) world.

Basically each of my posting will be about my day to day adventures and the obstacles that I overcome. Some of these blogs I will recommend a product or in some cases not. I try not to go into too much A/V detail for those who just like to keep it in Lamens terms. I hope you all enjoy this new website!
